CHANGSHA - All nine people who went missing after a ferry capsized a week ago in central China's Hunan Province have been confirmed dead, the local government said Saturday.

Rescuers retrieved the last body at 3 pm Saturday, bringing the death toll to nine, a spokesman for the Anhua county government said.

The ferry, which was carrying four vehicles and 12 people, capsized around 3:40 a.m. on December 9 in waters near the village of Pingshan in Anhua County.

Three of the boat's passengers, including its owner, were rescued, while the other nine went missing.
